In his early 30s he went to Freeport, Bahamas to work on high rise buildings, he also did a lot of the intricate work on the Freeport Straw Market. Working with his dad he learned the building trade. Born in Binghamton, New York, February 3, 1930, at the age of 17 Larry journeyed to Florida with his father who was a carpenter. He is preceded in death by two granddaughters and a grandson. Lawrence leaves behind his wife Glenda (Detharidge) Robinson his sons, Lawrence Robinson Jr., Gary Robinson, Jerry Robinson, a stepdaughter Sheila (Barnett) Chau, four grandchildren, two step grandsons, fifteen great grandchildren, and many close friends.
